Okay -

It's October! There's a bite in the air and we here in NE Indiana just had our first frost.

I'm glad I covered my tomato plants last night!!

30 days til parent teacher conferences. Hopefully we'll get them all taken care of without having to make 4 separate trips into town.

Blessings,

Garsy

Well, no frost here but it is 50 degrees...which is very cold for our region at this time of year. I'm freezing...probably because we had no airconditioning this summer and my body is used to very warm temperatures.

Everyone please check the prayer request list. Dee has asked for prayer...her father was killed in a car accident yesterday.

I just say that a few minutes ago. Prayin for ya Dee and family.

It's chilly here. I tthink it's in the 50's. All our tomatoes are gone. I only planted a few cherry and grape ones and they were very yummy. I did plant some astors an pansies last week. They're pretty cold hardy and will look nice till it gets real cold.

School is going great, the kids are both in Tech club this year and dd went with a friend to a "peace" group this morning. I think has something to do with the girl from Columbine named Rachel. Her friends asked her to go and so she went. I had to drive her at 6:30. Tech is keeping them busy after school building sets for the musical this month. Ds got to use a saw yesterday and was thrilled. They get to learn how to do lights and sound too. It's a nice club, but you don't see your kids much after school before the plays.

I've got to go a get 2 teeth drilled. I went to the dentist 2 weeks ago and he found 2 cavities. I think my teeht are getting old.

Coming in to add this web site Rachels Challenge

Ty got a part!!!!! This is the funny part tho. He's playing one of the Korean characters in the play and he has very red hair! I guess some dying or a wig will be involved!

Blessings,

Garsy

Roberta, did you go to the football game? Dh and I had so much fun at ours and I think were going to go next week. Did you find out what all the sirens were about?

No I didn't Deb (to the sirens or the game.) I blogged why I didn't make the game. They lost. Now they are 5-2.

Our Caravan lost it's tranny this weekend.

WHile my hubby was driving it iin the biggest town he drives in without me.

At a major intersection...

He had reverse and he backed into a parking lot so that was good.

I was at camp.

And, you don't put a $2000 repair into a $500 vehicle. So, we are carpooling and car shopping again.

(((mbee)))

S now has a bigger role in the HS play. Another girl quit and the director asked S if she would do the role. She's nervous, but excited.

K tried out for the elementary school chorus, and finds out today if she made it.

It was a crazy weekend for us. This week will be a tad slower, then things crank up hard as we prepare for the state band competition and the school play performance - both at the end of the month!!

way to go S!! That says something about her and what the director thinks of her and her commitment.

We didn't allow Ethan to join the 5th grade choir this year. He was upset about it, but for him it's about keeping his grades up and so far he hasn't been able to prove to me that he deserves this extra, and the deadline for sign up came and went. NOW he has to bring his grades up before basketball starts. He's doing okay - but because his handwriting is so atrocious his teachers are having trouble reading it and therefore he gets a lot wrong because of that. He decided himself not to run for student council I think. This I think I would allow as it is not nearly the commitment that choir is.

Ty's play practices start TODAY after school and everyday, 3-5 PM right after school. Everyday now, except Fridays through November 5th. November 6th is their final non-dress rehearsal. The next week is all dress rehearsal through Wednesday and the performances are Thursday through Saturday, November 12-14th. Opening night is Aryn's birthday.

Sorry about the van Mbee! It really stinks when it seems that everytime we turn around there is something else going wrong with a vehicle.

getting caught up on bills - thanks to a school loan - I know we have to pay those back eventually, but right now in order to keep from losing the house and utilities and to keep him in school, we really needed it.

Blessings,

Garsy

right there with you. Future debt is something I don't want, but it would help...

And, I spent time cleaning up paperwork from the turn-downs we had last month, which upset me greatly.

He wants to buy a $800 beater. I want to spend $800 to get a car we already own on the road. He is worried that it will cost more than $800. Funny - I feel the same way about an unseen beater.

And, I need to drive him to work before 6am.

I'm tired...

OH

I forgot - I met Maggie - 3cappuccinosmom on Friday...

She was exactly like I imagined. The boys were ALL BOY and so much fun. Took me right back to when my little ones were little. I caught Poppa grinning like a fool more than once.

It was - and it was a spur of the moment thing. She was talking about the G20 thing and I sent her a PM. So as we talked about Pittsburgh I said I was going to the zoo and she had passes so, just like that, there you go.

You know, you have to laugh. I knew the van was done while at camp, and I tried to get home sooner but, there it was, 11 o'clock at night and I'm staring at my hubby - shell-shocked and exhausted from climbing all day at camp and he says "Now, for the really bad news. There is a full tank of gas in the van."

That is so cool!

I know what you mean. He wants to pour more money into his 500. car but I'm worried.

Linz is in play practice too. It makes life a bit more hectic. :)

I have a good car wreck story. Dh has had some pretty severe front end damage on his truck for about a year (a driver stopped dead in the middle of a roundabout for no reason and the car behind her hit her and then dh hit that guy). We just haven't had money to fix it. On a trip for work a couple of weeks ago he hit a kangaroo. When he got to the farm he was working on the farmer pulled out the front end of the car with his tractor. Now the truck has three small dents on the front end which we could probably just get a dent doctor to fix rather than taking it to a panel beater and it needs a new front bumper (the plastic kind - it's totalled). I never thought I'd think hitting a roo was a good thing.

J and X are back at school as of yesterday. J is already complaining (he really doesn't like it. But he does see the necessity for what he wants. I just wish he'd dislike it without the grumbling.

I talked to the school yesterday about J and X being on the school bus on Friday mornings so I don't have to worry about getting them to school and then getting me to the course in the city.

I hope it all works out.

Just the thought of hitting a 'roo' tickles me. I have no idea why. Just that it seems so exotic. I imagine it can be quite dangerous though, I'm not making light of it.

I got an SMS from the school today to say J and X are on the bus Friday mornings.

Kath, I'd imagine that for you hitting a roo would be similar to me trying to envisage hitting a deer.

I just got a piece of junk email offering a loan. Why would someone take a loan from a company whose address is spookybehavior?

MBee, I never get the reason for any sort of junkmail/telemarketing. I'm a person who researches stuff before buying. Junkmail and telemarketing is a waste of time with someone like me because it's very rare that they ring about a product I don't already know about and I don't buy spur of the moment, so all it does is interrupt my day and make me annoyed when they won't listen because I've already said I'm not interested.

And I have NEVER received junkmail or a telemarketing call about something I'm actually researching at the time.

Speaking of junk mail do you ever get mail with your address and someone elses name on it? I know it happens when your move, but when it's someon who hasn't ever lived there?

We constantly get mail for the church down the street. Stuff addressed simply to "the pastor of thus and such church." But that expected as our mailboxes are one apart at the post office - we're 3 and they're 4.

Ty forgot his script today - hopefully he won't need it or will be able to borrow from someone else. Aryn is also staying after school today - Writers group. And as soon as Brian leaves to go study at the library for his test tomorrow, I'll have my house to myself until 4 PM!

Blessings,

Garsy
