Here is a new Kingsmen question . . .

What is your top 5 favorite songs off of the Kingsmen's new CD, Missing People?

1.) Cheer The Weary Traveler - I think Phil would make Big Jim proud
2.) When It's All Said And Done - Ray has a great lead on the chorus
3.) Missing People - This song is a perfect fit for Bryan
4.) God Knows - Phil sings this with great feeling
5.) God Saw A Cross - Definitely a #1!! Huggy does an AWESOME job on this one!!!

My top 5 on the CD are:

1 - God Knows
2 - He Picks Up A Begger On The Way
3 - Cheer The Weary Traveler
4 - Missing People
5 - ? (still tying to decide)

I am kind of surprised that no one else listed "He Picks Up A Begger On The Way" in their top 5.

Yes , the article was great. It was about time they had a feature on them. If you haven't seem them lately go see them.. This is the best group that Ray has had.
Their piano player ,Cody, reminds me of a young AB.

This group would make Hamill proud. I really miss him.

I wish you Kingsmen fans could have been with us last night you would have had a ball. Our quartet
( Servants Quartet ) had our annual homecoming singing last night and the Kingsmen were our guest. We had a great time. The Kingsmen are so down to earth and are still very ministry minded. They really treated us so good. If you haven't been able to see them lately you need to.

I received my November SN issue and was sooooooooo excited to see the Kingsmen on the front cover! I loved the pictures and spread they featured them with - it was AWESOME! I really liked the picture on the front where they were all matching. The motto "A group for today" was so appropriate, they are not only the Kingsmen of the past - they're the Kingsmen of the future.

I know it is not on CD but the best Live Album ever recorded by The Kingsmen was "Chattanooga Live. I wish I could get it on Cd to go with my 2 LP'S I have. I will not copy and burn it. The 2 LPS I now own have never been played. I have another but I wore it out and burning it would not do it justice.

Sounds like an album I would like to acquire. A couple years ago I managed to win an ebay bid for a NEW shrink-wrapped 1978 vinyl LP album by Hovie Lister & The Statesmen entitled "Oh What A Savior" that I ripped to WAV files. The CD features, Hovie, Big Chief, Jake, Doy and Rosie. Made a beautiful CD. I sent Gaither a copy and offered to give him the LP but never heard anything back from him. I still play it on my SGM internet radio station.

1. For God So Loved
2. Sweet Jesus
3. I Saw A Man
4. Jesus Fills My Every Need.
5. Tell It To Jesus
6. He Looked Beyond My Faults
7. I've Got A God I Can Recommend
8. Living With Jesus
9. God Put A Rainbow In The Sky
10. I Just Can't Praise Him Enough

All you need now is 1 more Carolina Boys CD , called "Ready". That was the only 3 they made as the "Carolina Boys".

That's an amazing collection, Josh, and has been very helpful in finding albums I need to secure. I've managed to find & order about a dozen so far from your list and will be on the prowl for others. Kudos.

I see you have The Kingsmen LIVE At The University Of Alabama. I desperately want that one because it has "When Crossing Time Shall Come" featuring the incredible Ernie Phillips, but there's something about paying $25 for a used vinyl album even if it is "near mint" that troubles me.

Perhaps since you are close to Ray, you could put a bug in his ear to put the Kingsmen albums that are out of print up on Amazon's Digital Downloads. There's no sense letting the scalpers reaping all the rewards that belong rightfully to the Kingsmen. And, perhaps, the next Kingsmen compilation could take a look at including that Crossing Time track which so many people like you appreciate.

Cheers,
Tony

Tony the only problem there is Ray, and or the Kingsmen do not own all the Masters of those old projects. Most likely Benson/ Riversong owns the Masters of those projects , so it would be up to them to release the music, and they would get the profits.
