That's right David, I wonder if Greg Fox has any of the masters of the old live projects and old projects. I think I might email Greg and see if He does and see if maybe He can get Horizon to release the "rare" and "old" live projects and "old" projects onto CD quote:
ORIGINAL: DJSfromCleveland Tony the only problem there is Ray, and or the Kingsmen do not own all the Masters of those old projects. Most likely Benson/ Riversong owns the Masters of those projects , so it would be up to them to release the music, and they would get the profits.

To me it makes zero sense for these old albums and videos to not be released on CD and DVD. With a group like the Kingsmen that still have a great following, and with the history of the group, whoever owns the masters to the albums could make a killing off of them. I really don't think the expense would be that much either considering there would be no "recording" going on, only transferring it to another format. Gold City did a collection called "The Heritage Collection" that had 2 volumes and a total of 6 old Gold City videos on DVD. I have this and it's great. The Kingsmen should really do something like this. Go back and put some of those old great live videos on DVD for future generations to enjoy.

ORIGINAL: KingsmenQuartetFan Thanks Tony, I noticed you had Better In Person in your collection...is that a CD? quote:
ORIGINAL: kingsman I have searched high and low trying to find the album. I'm thinking it was on cassette. I've been through my CDs 3x and I only have a dozen LPs to search but my cassette collection is all over the place and not well organized. The good news is that I did find my missing Won By One -Bold & Unashamed CD and the Kingsmen - I Will CD and Mark Trammell Trio - Supply CD that I needed to re-rip to a higher bitrate to better pick up Jerry & Eric's tenor parts.

I would like to know how I can locate the song , I Can't Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand. Foxy sang the lead on this. Who wrote this song? Was this a Squire Parsons song?

"I Can't Even Walk" is on the Kingsmen's 40th Anniversary cd released in 1996. The song is on their 1975 album, "24 Karat Gospel." Squire Parsons didn't write that song; Colbert & Joyce Croft did. If I remember right, the song had a little more of an edge in popularity by Charles Johnson & the Revivers.

I finally got around to listening to The Kingsmen 30 Great Gospel Songs CD. Can anyone tell me if I'm hearing Chris Collins on tenor?

Thanks for rely to my post on the song, I Can't Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand. I had forgotten about the song until I heard it sung at a memorial service last night.

You can see why the Kingsmen hired him. I wish more artists archived their albums when they go out of print. I particularly like All I Know; God Still Answers Prayer; Hide Me Rock Of Ages; and It's Called Love.

What makes even less sense to me is the failure of record labels to make their old CDs available for download. Of course, many have, but there still seems to be interest in many old recordings particularly from the 1980s.

Amen. I hope the labels are listening. More is better. I have found many treasures on Amazon's MP3 downloads. I just wonder if the labels are getting all the money or are they sharing the proceeds with the artists? And, can indie artists, who own the rights to their music, add their music to the Amazon MP3 download site? If so, why don't more do it?

Seems like the Kingsmen have always had great tenors. Harold Reed is doing a great job for them now. Tim Surrett was a lead singer who was comfortable with the high notes but Chris was a smooth tenor who could soar way above him. The question is, where is Chris Collins working nowadays?

He and his wife Audra were singing under the name Providence. I don't know if they are still traveling around or not. I have an album of theirs and it is really good. It's a more contemporary gospel sound. They used to have songs on their myspace from that album. The album title is "One". I really miss Chris. I think he was one of the very best the Kingsmen have ever had. No offense to Harold, Jeremy, Derrick, Shep or anyone else, but Chris and Jerry are IMO, the best tenors the Kingsmen have ever had. I have recently been listening to "You're Not Alone" and it's quite possibly one of the finest recordings the Kingsmen have ever made. I think it and "Georgia Live" don't get enough credit. Chris' version of Little Is Much, along with his testimony with it is one of the top 2 or 3 Kingsmen moments for me, along with Ray's "mess up" in the Chatanooga Live version of "The Old Ship of Zion"

Albums he was on, You're Not Alone, Georgia Live, New Life, Ridin' High, Kings Gold 3 and King's Gold 4, Live at the Alabama Theatre, A Kingsmen Christmas, and some others. I really love him singing "New Life", and "You're Not Alone" and "Little is Much".

The best Kingsmen tenors were: Johnny Parrack, Ernie Phillips and Shep. I really like Harold Reed. His song "God Saw The Cross" on their new is great. He has really improved lately.

"Little is Much" and "You're Not Alone" are probably his 2 best numbers....although the live version of "I Stand Upon The Rock of Ages" is super. I don't care much for the album version of that one though. It seems dead compared to the video version, and the live concert version. I remember seeing The Kingsmen at the 96 Tennessee Valley Fair. That was the only song off of the, then unreleased "Beyond The Clouds" album they did that night. They did it at the very end, and man it rocked the house!!!!!

Glad to hear none of the boys were injured in the bus wreck. I will be remembering the lady who hit them in prayer. Her name isn't important because God knows who she is. Looking forward to seeing you in Central on Dec 5th.

I'm glad no one was hurt. I hope and pray the Lady that hit them will be ok and something good will come out of it.

I see the Kingsmen have hired one of the best drivers on the road. Ed Martin, who most recently drove for Gold City, will start with the Kingsmen on Dec 31.
