I saw the Freemans about 3 years ago.

I agree, they are some of the nicest, sweetest people you'll ever meet.
Before the concert, Darrell saw me taking pictures and came up to talk to me. He approached me like I was a long lost friend.

My favorites are still
Rise Up
He'd have to walk through the blood.

Santa, I do not remember the Freemans mentioning a wedding around Labor Day so I'm not sure.

I have to say I really appreciate y'all contributing to this thread. I always worry that I'll start a topic that no one cares about and I'll be the only poster. It's so nice to have filled a page up, and I hope it encourages the Freemans if they see it.

One of these days, I hope they'll sing "Rise Up" at NQC. I bet it'd bring the house down!

My favorite song off their new project is probably "He Chose Me." My sister calls that her wedding song.

Lest you wonder what the above paragraphs have to do with each other: nothing. I'm just rambling.

Glad to see this thread because I have a question. My aunt's church was supposed to have had the Freemans for their Labor day function, but they weren't able to make it because of someone's wedding. Anyone know who?

Sony, if you were referring to this post it was made by hopperfan. I just happened to be in her avatar photo.

But I do like the Freeman's. Love Misty's solo's also.

Thanks, Santa. I probably was. I do get really confused trying to keep track of who's really who.

Freemans were right on target at their performances at Dollywood this week. They had large crowds at most of their 6 concerts in the Showstreet Theater.

That's neat. I'm sure Misty was grateful for the encouragement. It has been neat to watch her grow up into a ministry of her own and yet she's still very much a part of her family's ministry.

You many not realize it, but you kind of come across sounding like a stalker instead of a regular fan. Poor little Freeman girl. I hope you didn't scare her. And, by the way, as a courtesy to the other readers, could you use proper punctuation? It's a little distracting. Don't mean to be mean, but just asking if you think about or re-read things before you post.

K, you might should get used to improper punctuation and grammar and subject/verb disagreement around here! There's quite a bit of it and you'd probably be a lot happier if you just kinda ignored it!

Unfortunately, there are stalkers too but I agree that we need to try to encourage people when we're able. A kind word can be hard to come by these days. Yet people never seem to lack critical words.

I personally believe the post about sounding like a stalker was out of place. Did not see that in the post that I read. Calling someone a stalker is very bold in my opinion especially when they posted how much they enjoyed meeting Misty. I have met a lot of the artists and yes a lot of the ladies but I hope no one ever would post that I seemed like a stalker because I liked them so much. Most always get a hug from many of the lady artists. Never did I think of the hugs as being out of place. Sweet people they are. By the way, get hugs from a lot of the guy artists also.

I remember back in the 80's we had a gospel group and we were asked to sing at this 3 day outdoor sing. We sung with a lot of big name groups. Saturday there was this bus or big long camper I don't remember what it was. It pulled up and it was the Freemans. I remember Chris holding a very cute baby. Well it is hard to imagine that baby has grown up and got married. Well we were just starting out and we were so nervous and I remember Darrill getting our group together and calming us down and telling us just let the Lord have his way. I will never forget that. Oh by the way. I now live close to there parents. I will always be a fan and Chris has always been one of my favorite singers.

Basssinger1, what a neat story! There is nothing like a group of people whose heart is toward God and who desire to be led by the Spirit.

For those who haven't heard, Misty's baby, Adelaide Rose, was born today. I am rejoicing with the Freemans as I'm sure it's seemed like forever for this day to arrive.

Who are The Freemans?

Darrell Freeman - vocals, bass guitar
Chris (Hawkins) Freeman - vocals, emcee
Joe Freeman - vocals, keyboard
Misty Freeman - vocals, rhythm guitar
Caylon Freeman - vocals, drums

This is one of SGM marvelous family ministries not unlike Jeff & Sheri Easter, the McKameys, the Hoppers, Talley Trio, the Perrys and many, many more.

Darrell and Chris have developed a distinctive sound and a long line of hits. We are so fortunate to have them in the wider southern and country gospel field.

One of my favorite Freeman songs is Chris and friends singing the old Gospel Plow (Hold On) song "Eyes On The Prize" made famous by Mahalia Jackson, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan and Bruce Sprinsteen. Chris is joined by Joyce Martin McCollough, Bo Hinson, Misty Freeman and Jason Crabb in one of the most beautiful and soulful songs ever released by the Freemans. The song appears on their 2007 Eyes On The Prize project.

MP3: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001QXSIGI

This is the same album on which "Three Wooden Crosses" appeared; another of their big hits. Other great tracks on this CD includes "He Chose Me" featuring Chris and "Rich As I Can Be" featuring Darrell.

Here's some of those songs and others that I've found on Youtube.

You all have mentioned a lot of their best music, but my favorite song by the Freemans will always be What A Way To Spend Forever.
Every time I hear it it makes me want to close my eyes and try to imagine what life will be like in our new eternal home. even though the Bible says:
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which god hath prepared for them that love Him. (1Corinthians 2:9)

I agree with your characterization of the song and I thank you also for quoting one of my favorite Bible verses. For those who haven't heard the song, it is from their Standing Out CD which is still available on numerous websites including theirs and Amazon. It also available for MP3 download from Amazon, Rhapsody, iTunes and Napster.

What A Way To Spend Forever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyTLt_jcOuA

In addition to the incredible song What A Way To Spend Forever you cited, the Standing Out CD also includes their megahit He'd Still Been God and one of my favorite Freeman songs, He Will Calm The Troubled Waters featuring Chris on lead, and also the Freemans song I'll Fly amongst others.
