Just curious what others are doing this year. We're going to my sisters and I'll probably bring something.

We're having it at our house. My mom, daugher & grandson, and a few other family members are coming over. Until my MIL & FIL died a couple of years ago, we had a big Thanksgiving meal at their house.

I'm going to my dance partner's big, loud, informal Thanksgiving dinner. I'm bringing pies.

FIL, BIL, SIL and nephew are coming to our house. SIL is bringing 2 casseroles and a pie. Plus a veggie tray to munch on. I'm doing turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes and 2 pies. Chocolate cream pie is my husband's absolute favorite and he only gets it at Thankgsiving. But the last 2 years he has only managed 2 pieces (not big ones, in fact pretty tiny) and this year our son will be in one the pie as well - 7 pieces out in one sitting doesn't leave the poor guy much chance at any on Black Friday! So I'll make a second one and if there are lots of leftovers force people to take some. Kris

We're having it at my brothers house this year but I'm going to cook the meal. That's pretty much how its been for the past 11 years -- exception of 1 year where my SIL had it at her house and she cooked the meal. Although some family members might bring one of their favorite side dishes. I really enjoy cooking, so it works out great. It's just a wonderful blessing to be around family.

I'm in the UK, we don't do Thanksgiving here. (That may be obvious to some, but, believe me, there's been plenty of Americans who have asked me what we do for Thanksgiving!!)

We've had Thanksgiving at our house ever since we got married (1997). It's always tons of fun!

My (Canadian) Thanksgiving was in October, so I read the poll as past tense and voted accordingly. We went out to eat--actually took a day trip to a neat little town nearby and ate there. We would normally either go to my folks' place or have them over, but they were gone to shut up the cottage and we couldn't help this year. When we have kids I'd imagine we'll host.

Going to my IL's. I'll take a casserole(green bean, this year) and a couple of deserts. Probably a Stout Gingerbread and something else...

Going to some of my husband's family, there will probably be 25-30 people there. I'm not wild about it, but they're his family and he is thrilled to get to spend holidays with them, so I just grin and bear it.

We have always had it at our house. Nobody else has room to have it at theirs. One sister has an apartment that is so small she doesn't even have a table in her place to eat on, she eats on her lap. My other sister has a table but not big enough for 9 people. My mom is 82, dad is 85. Mom cooks the turkey. My middle sister will buy an all natural fresh turkey. She will make her cranberry sauce and maybe a salad. Mom will also make the sweet potatoes. I make the mashed potatoes, frozen corn cause that is about the only veggie my nephew will eat and another veggie. My youngest sister will bring a really good appetizer. I loved what she brought last year and I think she will bring it again. My cousin and his wife will bring something too. For a few years in the late 70's, early 80's, my cousin and his wife would invite us up their house. Now they don't even bother with us or talk to us. I won't go into all the details but my cousin is being a jerk. My youngest sister usually brings wine and my dad will drink more than he should. This year he is on meds for depression and he is not supposed to drink, and he doesn't, so maybe she won't bring any. Only my mom, her and my dad drink any anyway. We will all eat way to much and fall asleep afterwards. I can't wait!

I'm driving to my sister's in Virginia. Still haven't decided if I'm going on Wednesday or Thursday. Either way I-95 is going to be one very busy road.

I'm going to my boyfriend's sisters house and meeting his family for the first time. His other sister, brother, and their families will be there as well.

Half my immediate family will be away for the holiday, so for the rest of us, I will probably roast a small turkey breast with just a couple traditional sides. Last year we went out, but I really like cooking so it was my choice this year and I chose to stay home.

My brothers and I have a sibling tradition for thanksgiving....we'll all meet (and stay) at my brothers house (there's 3 of us siblings), and cook a huge dinner. It's been going on mostly for 10 years now. Last year, for the first time, our parents were able to make it (we all live in separate states). On the going out note....one year we met up and went out to Golden Corral for Thanksgiving. My NC brother were in the middle of closing on a new house and moving, so we thought it would be easier. The food was decent, but as we were sitting around the table after dinner we all looked at each other and said "let's not do this again". I think that was the moment we realized there would be no leftovers. (Not to mention we enjoy the flurry of kitchen activity that day.
